Change can feel like both a blessing and a burden. I’m in the middle of some major life transitions right now… changes that will shift the direction of my life forever. They bring hope, but they also stir up deep uncertainty. I know God is leading me, yet that doesn’t always make letting go easy.
Perhaps you’re facing a massive change as well. Maybe sobriety is new to you, or you’re learning to rebuild your life without the comfort of old habits. Maybe you feel like you’re starting from scratch… again. If so, I want you to know: you’re not alone.
The truth is, even good change can feel overwhelming. We weren’t created to do life in our own strength, especially not during times of transition. God never promised that the road would be smooth, but He did promise that He would walk it with us.
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” — Isaiah 43:19
This verse has carried me through many seasons of unknowns. God is not just watching our lives unfold from a distance; He is actively creating new paths where we see none. He is providing water in dry places. He is the steady hand when everything else is shifting.
If you’re in early recovery, every day might feel unfamiliar. You might question whether you’re strong enough to keep going. Let me tell you: you are, but not because of your own willpower. Because God is doing something new in you. He is replacing shame with grace, confusion with clarity, and fear with courage.
It’s okay to grieve the old while walking toward the new. It’s okay to not have all the answers. What’s important is that you’re moving forward with God. You’re saying yes to growth, to healing, and to becoming the woman He created you to be.
So today, if change feels heavy or scary, take a breath. Remind yourself that this is not the end of your story. This is a new beginning. One filled with purpose, redemption, and hope.
And most importantly, you don’t have to walk through it alone.
If this resonated with you, I invite you to check back tomorrow when my 6-week recovery coaching waitlist officially opens. You’ll find the link in my bio https://www.instagram.com/recovery4her/
